Carvoeiro, Municipality of Lagoa
The old fishing village of Carvoeiro is located in the heart of the Algarve on one of the most impressive parts of the rocky coastline between Armação de Pêra and Portimão.
The popular beach Praia do Carvoeiro in the heart of the village, framed on both sides by impressive rocks, is well frequented during the summer.
On both sides of the bay steeply ascending roady lead to the upper part of the village.
The steep slopes are tightly packed with apartments, offering splendid views to one of the most spectacular parts of the Algarvian coast.
The centre of Carvoeiro is situated adjacent to the beach with restaurants, bars and a variety of shops.
One of the hot spots near the beach.
Carvoeiro: Gift shop
This shop, offering ceramics and other local souvenirs, is located between the two one-way lanes leading through the small bay to the beach.
Like in some other tourist spots in the Algarve, this tram has been installed for the convenience of the visitors.
The multicolored rock formation of the steep coast on both sides of the bay forms an impressive contrast with the blue of the Atlantic ocean.
